Hello everyone! My apologies for not posting anything in a while. We have a lot to catch up on!
First of all, we have a new addition to the family, MHS Magnestar, Magnes for short. Magnes is an eight, almost nine, year old Welsh Cob pony who was originally trained to pull carts. We bought him last fall and I currently have him in training with Shayna Simon at Arroyo Del Mar in San Diego. So far, I have learned a lot from Magnes and riding him has been a great experience since, with the help of Shayna, we are working on developing Magnes. This is somewhat different from my experience with Tigger because he was already well trained and knew what to do, which made it easier to focus on improving my riding. I want to thank Kim McGrath for helping me find Magnes and giving me a great start with him as well as teaching me a lot on Tigger.
Now for the golden pony. We recently moved Tigger to a facility that is much closer to home which allows me to visit him every day. Since I am not competing Tigger right now, we are letting him take it a little more easily with a decreased number of work days each week, and he has also been enjoying other fun stuff like getting turn out in the arenas and going out on the trails.
In news unrelated to horses, I have been taking many great online classes for school and am planning to take at least 4 high school level courses next year. In February I performed as the first cello in the Claremont Youth Symphony Orchestra ~ Prelude Strings Ensemble winter concert, which was held in the Bridges Hall of Music at Pomona College.
I have also recently painted a picture of Magnestar as well as a friend’s horse (both pictured below).
Thats all for now! See you later!
