I am very excited to announce that Magnes and I have been invited to participate in Olympian, Lendon Gray’s Dressage for Kids Winter Intensive Training Program. Taking place in Wellington, Florida, the WIT selects 12-14 young (under the age of 22) dressage riders from across the country to take part in a rigorous training program from January through March. At this program attendees are responsible for the care of their horses, maintenance of the facility, and training not only in riding, but also in horse care and theory.
Magnes and I are very thankful for this amazing opportunity and appreciate all of those who have helped us along the way. Most importantly, thank you to Sarah Lockman for sparking my interest in dressage and showing me many useful training methods that I incorporate into my riding, Kim McGrath for giving me a great start with Magnes and teaching me many helpful training tools, Shayna Simon for training me to incorporate a variety of productive techniques that have substantially improved my riding, and my parents for supporting me through this whole dressage adventure. I couldn’t do any of it without you.
In mid-December, my mom and I will trailer Magnes across the country to Wellington from Southern California. I will do my best to keep the blog updated while we are there for anyone who is interested.
